About the Role
The Manager, Medical Surgical and Telemetry is responsible for the operational, clinical, and administrative leadership of the Medical Surgical and Telemetry units in a high-volume acute care hospital. The hospital performs approximately 4,000 surgeries annually and averages 4,000 Emergency Department visits per month. The facility also features a Bariatric Weight Loss Surgery Center of Excellence and the only Total Joint Center in the region. This role oversees patient care delivery, staff performance, and day-to-day unit operations while ensuring compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and quality benchmarks.
Requirements
• Lead and manage all assigned units including staffing, scheduling, workflow, and daily operations
• Oversee clinical quality, patient care outcomes, and compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
• Support staff development, performance management, and coordination with interdisciplinary teams and physicians
• Participate in departmental planning, budgeting, and operational improvement initiatives
• Promote a culture of patient safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
About the Company
Department Experience:
• Minimum of two years of recent department specific experience required
Leadership Experience:
• Charge nurse or supervisory experience in a department specific setting preferred
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field required
• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field preferred
Licensure:
• Registered Nurse with a current California RN license
Certifications:
• Current BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• Basic EKG and telemetry interpretation required or completion of a Basic EKG class within six months
